Biography

One of the great modern jazz trombonists, Slide Hampton is also a composer/arranger of note. You can find him in three different pairings on MPS.

On A Day in Copenhagen, a studio recording with the great Dexter Gordon during their time in Europe, recorded in 1969.
On Give Me A Double, a live recoding with the Joe Haider Orchestra from the legendary Domicile jazz club in Munich.
And on Trombone Workshop,  recorded live at the 1971 Zurich Jazz Festival, the album features four of the best trombonists in modern jazz and a stellar rhythm section to back them up (with Albert Mangelsdorff, Jiggs Whigham, Ake Persson).
